When do I use a resume objective?
Use one if you’ve graduated and are entering the work force for the first time. Or you’ve been out of employment for sometime - maternity leave, traveling etc. Finally, use a resume objective if you are changing career path - form builder to lawyer.
What’s a good resume objective - show me?
Bad - Focused around you, not the employer.
I want an account management position in the distribution industry that will utilize my five years of volume selling skills and lead to a senior account management role.
Good - Offers value to employer.
A position in account management requiring volume selling skills gained form five years experience and a degree in Business Studies, helping distribution companies deliver an enhanced customer focused service.
